This past weekend, FUEL Community Project headed to Ocean Beach in San Francisco for a day of environmental action—mixed with a dash of creativity! Our beach cleanup event was a big success, blending community service with a post-cleanup art sculpture contest that brought out the artistic side in everyone.

A Morning of Environmental Impact

With gloves on and bags in hand, volunteers spent the morning cleaning up the beach, removing trash, and working together to care for the environment. It was inspiring to witness the community come together to protect such a beautiful space, knowing our efforts would have a lasting impact on the health of the coastline.

Creativity in Action: The Art Sculpture Contest

After the cleanup, the fun continued with an art sculpture contest using the garbage we collected, along with sand from the beach. Teams got creative, building everything from abstract designs to imaginative ocean creatures. The contest proved that even discarded items could be transformed into something beautiful, and it brought out the artist in everyone.

Judging the Sculptures

To add an element of friendly competition, we invited a judge to evaluate the sculptures based on creativity, teamwork, and artistic flair. The contest was full of laughter and smiles, providing a joyful end to the day’s hard work.

Combining Service and Fun

This event was a reminder that community service and fun can go hand-in-hand, especially when it comes to doing good for the planet. At FUEL Community Project, we believe in blending purpose with joy, and our Ocean Beach cleanup was the perfect example. We’re already looking forward to doing it all again!
